Greene Resources, Inc. entered the Wilmington market in 2012, after the company purchased the assets of a local staffing company. Greene Resources was well known in the Raleigh area, but needed to quickly establish its name and brand here.

About Greene Resources, Inc.:

Greene Resources is a recruiting solutions firm founded in 2000 that helps companies locate, land and develop top industry talent critical to business success. It strives to be a trusted adviser for its clients and to make an ongoing difference in their business growth and success.

Business Challenge:

Greene Resources expanded into Wilmington by acquiring A&B Personnel. “We have discovered that there are very few places like Wilmington. It is such a welcoming and uniquely connected community, and we are excited to be here,” said Gary Greene, president and CEO of Greene Resources.

In working with the Greater Wilmington Business Journal, the company wanted to continue A&B Personnel’s marketing initiatives, while “seeking ways to connect with the local market, increase name recognition, and become a thought-leader in the recruiting and employment space,” he said.

How the GWBJ Addressed the Challenge:

“We were so fortunate to connect with the Business Journal, and Judy Budd, associate publisher, in particular,” Greene said. “Judy took an immediate interest in Greene Resources and in helping us connect with the local community. We think of Judy as an extension of Greene Resources because she takes a true interest in ensuring our company’s ongoing success.”

“Therefore, we agree to take on most everything Judy recommends to us,” Greene continued. “Over the past few years, these activities have included becoming a corporate and presenting sponsor at the Power Breakfast, becoming a sponsor at the WilmingtonBiz Expo, advertising in the print edition of the Business Journal, and advertising on the Business Journal’s daily email blasts and website.”

“More important than the sponsorships and advertisements, however, are the experiences created by Judy and the Business Journal team. They ensure we are connected in the community and that our voice is being heard,” Greene said.

The Results:

Greene said that working with the Business Journal has been a difference-maker for Greene Resources.

“Through sponsorship and involvement in Business Journal publications and events, Greene Resources has seen a significant increase in name recognition, new doors opened, and an increase in our customer base,” he said.
