Question Of The Month: How Do I Get My Business Included In The Book On Business?

Sponsored Content provided by The Inside Scoop - Marketing Newsletter, Greater Wilmington Business Journal and WILMA Magazine

The Business Journal’s Book on Business (affectionately called BOB) is a compilation of statistical information and lists that we publish in our Business Journal print editions throughout the year. It also includes lists that are exclusive to BOB.

BOB is part of one of our editorial offerings. There is no charge to be included and it can be good exposure for your company or organization.

Throughout the year, our editorial team sends out surveys by email to employers and individuals and asks them to update their information from previous lists. These surveys typically come from a member of our editorial team: Cece Nunn, Jenny Callison and Vicky Janowski.

Responding to these surveys is important if you want to be listed. It also helps our editorial team. They spend hours by phone contacting people who don’t respond to the surveys.

You can also request to be added to a list by sending an email to our editor, Vicky Janowski, at [email protected]. Please include a contact name and email address for the person who should receive a survey. Our team will use the information you supply to determine if your organization should be added to the list based on its size, number of employees, sales and other data.

The 2015 BOB is scheduled to come out in January 2015; our editorial calendar lists a schedule when each list will be published in our print edition.

In addition, we’re currently soliciting contributions from area artists who want to include their works in BOB. The deadline is Dec. 1 for submissions. For more information, contact art director Nina Bays at [email protected].

If you want to have an ad included in the 2015 BOB, contact Judy Budd, associate publisher at [email protected] or 910-343-8600 ext. 212. The deadline for 2015 BOB ads is Friday, Nov. 14.
