Now that April is here, it’s time to start planning for the 2015 WILMA Dash and WILMA Nights Health Fest.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the event, the WILMA Dash is our annual all-female 5K run/walk around historic downtown Wilmington. It’s the largest women-only race in southeast North Carolina, and more than 800 runners and walkers participated last year. Just over 1,200 people attended the health fest.
The event starts and ends at the Coastline Conference and Event Center on Nutt Street. The WILMA Dash is followed by our Health Fest, which features interactive health booths, healthy foods, wine, beer and more.
Team and individual costumes are appreciated and encouraged. We’ll be giving prizes for the most spirited and largest teams.
This year’s events will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 28. But if you make plans this month to attend, you can save on individual and group entry fees. The discounted registration period ends on April 15.
Registrations will be accepted up to and on the day of the Dash. However, if you register by May 18 you’ll be guaranteed to receive a Dash t-shirt – in your size – with your registration fee.
And stay tuned in the weeks leading up to the event for more news and announcements about the WILMA Dash and Health Fest.
