News Update: Audit Provides Information About Our Readers

Sponsored Content provided by The Inside Scoop - Marketing Newsletter, Greater Wilmington Business Journal and WILMA Magazine

The Business Journal recently received the results of a readership audit conducted by the Circulation Verification Council for our print edition. This is important because we want to know who is reading our publication as we make decisions that guide everything from how many copies we print of the Business Journal to our advertising rates.

The results of our latest circulation audit were returned to us recently for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014.

While the report is full of details and numbers, here are a few highlights we think our marketing clients will want to know:

  • 55 percent of readers contacted a company because of an advertisement in the Business Journal
  • 84 percent of readers make or influence buying decisions for their companies
  • 89 percent of readers are business owners or executives at their firms
  • 87 percent of readers graduated from college or a higher level of education
  • 72 percent of readers had a household income of $100,000 or more
  • 91 percent of readers spend more than 15 minutes with the publication and 70 percent spend more than 30 minutes with it
  • 68 percent of our readers are male and 32 percent are female.
  • Our median reader age is 47.
  • Our total readership is more than 30,000.
You’ll likely hear more about these statistics as you work with your account representative in coming months. You also can access some of our statistical information on our website.  For information about our online readership, click here.
