Dosher Memorial Hospital has welcomed Paul Armstrong to its medical staff, according to a news release.

Armstrong is a board-certified general surgeon and works with patients with all types of general surgeries and endoscopic procedures at Dosher Memorial Hospital's location at 904 N. Howe St. in Southport.

Prior to working at Dosher, he worked at Abington Surgical Associates in Virginia and "had privileges at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abington," officials said.

"Armstrong was the Senior Surgical Partner in this practice, and worked with training physicians who are part of the Johnston Memorial Hospital Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Program," stated the release.

He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was the chief resident of general surgery, officials said in the release.
