Halligan’s Public House has closed its Lumina Station location after six years in business.

Owner BT Corrigan said that despite the Irish pub at Lumina Station being one of his most lucrative restaurants, it was more out of the way for him than his other locations, making it difficult for Corrigan to have a regular presence there.

When it came time to renew the lease at Lumina Station, Corrigan said he decided to close that Halligan's location and put his focus on his three other restaurants, Halligan’s at the Courtyard at Masonboro, Siena Trattoria and Tavern on 17th.

“It was a difficult decision because I really loved that space, but I’m at the point where I need to simplify and stay ahead of the game rather than spreading myself too thin,” Corrigan said.

Corrigan has operated the Masonboro Halligan’s location, 3317 Masonboro Loop Road, since 2010 and purchased neighboring Siena Trattoria in 2016. The Tavern at 17th, located 1611 Dusty Miller Lane at the Pointe at Barclay, opened a little over a year ago. Corrigan said  business at these three locations is strong.

Corrigan said a new menu is currently being developed at Siena, and he expects it to be released by late August. Additionally, Halligan’s and Tavern on 17th are gearing up for football season, offering plenty of cold beer, appetizers and hearty sandwiches for the game-watching crowd.

According to a representative from Lumina Station, the approximately 4,800-square-foot space previously occupied by Halligan’s is currently available for lease.
