Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport has announced three new administrative hires.
Margaret Fontana is the hospital’s new controller, according to a news release.
Fontana, who has more than 15 years’ experience in operations and financial management in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, comes to Dosher from Tug River Health Association Inc. in West Virginia. She was the organization’s chief financial officer and chief operating officer for four years.
She also has held CFO and controller positions at David Raines Community Health Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and Bath County Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia, according to the release. Previously, she was vice president and controller for Anthem Leather Inc. in High Point.
A graduate of University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she majored in accounting, Fontana is a certified public accountant. She is a member of the N.C. Association of CPAs and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Jennell Crump is Dosher Memorial Hospital’s network revenue cycle manager, a new position, the hospital announced. Crump has 29 years of experience in health care financial services.
Previously, Crump worked in group annuity operations at MetLife in Charlotte for two years. Before that she was revenue cycle manager for Cone Health Cancer Center and managed care contracting and professional fee billing for Moses Cone Healthcare in Greensboro, the release stated.
Crump earned a bachelor’s degree in communications, radio, TV and film from Shaw University.
The third new face at the hospital is
Joseph Hooks (at right), hired as Dosher’s new
Nursing Center administrator. Hooks, who joins the hospital from Shoreland Health Care
and Retirement Center in Whiteville, where he was administrator, has seven years of professional experience in health care and senior living, the release stated.
Hooks is employed by Dosher’s clinical partner for skilled nursing care, Liberty Healthcare & Rehabilitative Services.
Liberty is slated to purchase Dosher’s nursing center license later this year.
Previously, Hooks worked for Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton and Liberty Medical Specialties in Supply. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health service management from East Carolina University, the release stated.
