After 15 years at 1 S. Front St., Goodfellas Nite Life owners Jeff Billiter and Jon Fowler were informed in late September that their lease would not be renewed.

Prior to opening Goodfellas in 2004, the pair operated a wine bar in the same building for three years.

Building owner James Goodnight told the Greater Wilmington Business Journal that the space formerly occupied by Goodfellas Nite Life might be listed as office space following a remodel.
 
Once it was clear that they would have to move the business, Billiter and Fowler began a frantic search for a new location. They quickly secured 122 Princess St. following the closure of Bottega Art & Wine, which has moved to North Fourth Street. Their team has worked round the clock to transform the space into the new Goodfellas.
 
“I think we’ve really made the best of an unfortunate situation,” Billiter said. “The new building offers all the same spaces plus a great courtyard patio, which is something we’ve always wanted.”
 
The ground floor is home to a modern sports bar, while the basement level houses another bar and dance floor, as well as a separate lounge area with a pool table and large screen TV. The spacious outdoor courtyard has yet another bar to service that area.
 
“We’ve done everything we can to ensure that we continue to provide the same atmosphere and level  of service we provided at our previous location” Billiter said. “We look forward to entertaining our customers in the new space.”
 
A grand opening celebration is planned for 8 p.m. Friday.
