Addie Wuensch, a longtime employee of Bottega Art & Wine, is now the gallery and wine bar’s new owner.

Wuensch said that when she learned of former owner Sandy Perotto’s plans to close the former location at 122 Princess St., she immediately began looking into the possibility of purchasing the business.

“My heart and soul has always been with Bottega, and so I decided to go for it,” Wuensch said.

She also began scouting a new location that would be large enough for the gallery to grow and to host private events. (Goodfellas Nite Life is moving into Bottega's former location.)

Wuensch settled on 723 N. Fourth St., in the heart of the Brooklyn Arts District. The 2,000-square-foot building is large enough to accommodate Bottega’s popular weekly drumming and dance circles as well as an expanded selection of artwork, jewelry and clothing.

The space also includes a large outdoor patio where Wuensch is developing a sculpture and zen garden. Wuensch said that over the next year she will be working with Stephany Ross to incorporate a healing arts spa into the building as well.

The bar at Bottega will serve a global selection of wines by the glass and bottle as well as local craft beer on tap. Weekly wine and beer tastings are planned.

“Bottega is designed to be a community gathering space that’s inclusive of all people where everyone feels welcome, comfortable and safe,” Wuensch said.

A grand opening with live music and hors d’oeuvres is planned from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday.
