BT Corrigan and Randall Willard, owners of both Halligan’s Public House locations, have purchased Siena Trattoria.
 
Siena, an Italian restaurant, is located next door to Halligan’s at the Courtyard at Masonboro on Masonboro Loop Road.
 
“This is something that we have been talking about with the previous owners for a while now, and it was a good opportunity for us to have another restaurant in the same location,” Corrigan said.
 
The business was purchased from Katherine Kafer and Curt Pryor, who ran the restaurant for the past year and a half. Husband-and-wife team Anthony and Monica Weiss will stay on to continue running the kitchen, Corrigan said.
 
Corrigan has spent the past month working with the Weisses to improve and expand Siena’s existing menu, with an emphasis on pizza and pasta. The team will focus on consistency, and Corrigan plans to adjust the pricing to offer a better value to neighborhood families. He said that by dropping the price of a large pie from $15 to $12.50, he hopes to increase take-out business.
 
While the interior of Siena will receive only minor cosmetic updates, the courtyard patio, which is shared with neighboring Halligan’s, will be outfitted with new furniture, fans and umbrellas.
 
Corrigan and Willard are also currently working on plans for the Tavern on 17th, a new restaurant slated for the Pointe at Barclay development. Construction is set to begin this fall, and an early 2017 opening is expected.
 
Siena Trattoria is located at 3315 Masonboro Loop Road and is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Halligan’s Public House is located at the Courtyard at Masonboro and at 1900 Eastwood Road in Lumina Station.
