By J. Elias O'Neal, posted Apr 11, 2014
Regional homes sales are on the rebound, although month-over-month figures are slightly down, according to a report.

Figures released Friday by the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR) showed the number of homes sold in the greater Wilmington area in March compared to March 2013 remained relatively unchanged.

In all, 493 homes were sold last month throughout New Hanover, northern Brunswick and Pender counties – down slightly from 495 homes sold in March 2013 but up from 418 homes sold in February.

The median price for a home – the midpoint in price for which all properties are sold during a given time period – was $184,500 last month, up from $171,000 in March 2013, according to the report.

The average price of a home sold in March also increased 1.5 percent from $221,898 in March 2013 to $225,154 last month.

Year-to-date, 1,247 residences have been sold in the greater Wilmington market.
