A home services company founded in 1979 has expanded its North Carolina presence to Wilmington.

Blaze Heating, Cooling, Electrical & Plumbing, 1306 N. 23rd St., recently marked its grand opening in the Port City.

"This marks a significant step in our expansion, as we transition Wilmington Air into the Blaze family," according to a news release.

The release said Blaze has experienced "remarkable growth over the past year."

The company started in Greensboro and then expanded to Raleigh before setting up shop in Wilmington when it was joined by Wilmington Air.

"Our customers can expect to see the same friendly faces they've trusted for years, as the experienced technicians and office staff from Wilmington Air will continue to serve under the Blaze name," according to the release.

Daniel Leonard, general manager of the Wilmington location, stated in the release, "Joining the Blaze family allows us to leverage a wealth of knowledge and resources to better serve our customers. We're thrilled to continue working with the community we've been a part of, now with enhanced capabilities and a broader service scope."
