St. James Plantation has named Dan Kingsbury vice president of sales and marketing, the community announced in a news release. He will direct a team of ten sales executives and a support staff of more than 20 associates.

Kingsbury has 37 years of sales and marketing experience at several successful resort and residential communities in the South, including Daniel Island and Fripp Island near Charleston, according to the release. He “joins St. James after directing two projects for Dock Street Communities, leading the turnaround of Thompson’s Station in Tennessee and serving as director of sales for the Cascades at World Golf Village at St. Augustine, FL,” the release stated.

Since its founding in 1991, St. James has attracted more than 4,500 property owners, the release stated. Situated on 6,000 acres near Southport, the community offers 81 holes of golf, a private beach club on Oak Island, a marina on the Intracoastal Waterway, four clubhouses, two fitness centers (one with indoor pool), a 28-acre park with 300-seat amphitheater, 24 tennis courts, 1,500 acres of protected wetlands, and more than 15 miles of hiking and biking trails.

“Some prospective buyers might not realize we still have a good five years of homes and home sites left to sell,” Kingsbury said. “Getting that message out to our target markets is our biggest challenge for 2015 and beyond."
