Novant Health recently announced anaffiliation with Leighton Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Supply.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Richard Leighton (pictured below in a photo from his website) has been practicing in Brunswick County since 1996, according to a news release. He founded Leighton Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in 2006.
“Dr. Leighton and his team bring decades of expertise and results for their patients,” said Heather King-Semple, president and chief operating officer, Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, in the release. “We look forward to working with them to ensure coastal North Carolina residents have access to local care to help them live their best lives.”
Leighton provides care for musculoskeletal conditions and trauma, with special emphasis on arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle, robotic-assisted knee replacements, reconstructive procedures, total joint replacements, rotator cuff disorders and help for nerve compression syndromes, such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
According to the release, Leighton also has a strong interest in orthobiologics, which capture the body's own healing potential to enhance healing and recovery.
“By affiliating with Novant Health, we are ensuring that our patients will continue to receive the best possible care, supported by leading-edge technology, and backed by a world-class health system,” Leighton said in the release. “It's all about providing the highest-quality compassionate health care to our patients, and this new relationship is certainly good news for those looking for great care close to home.”
Leighton Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is located at 20 Medical Campus Drive, Suite 104, in Supply.
Novant Health also operates Novant Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine-Leland.
