Business Journal Hires Audrey Elsberry As Reporter

Audrey Elsberry
The Greater Wilmington Business Journal hired Audrey Elsberry as its newest reporter.

Elsberry comes to Wilmington from Charlotte, where she spent the summer as an intern on the Charlotte Observer’s business desk through the Dow Jones News Fund Business Reporting program.

At the Observer, Elsberry reported on Bank of America and Wells Fargo, as well as retail, growth and development and health care. She wrote nine front-page stories during her internship.

She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of South Carolina in May. At South Carolina, Elsberry wrote for the Carolina News and Reporter and The Daily Gamecock, where she served in various leadership positions and won two South Carolina Press Association awards throughout her four years.

"Audrey has already shown a great talent for finding stories, both on beat coverage and for unexpected topics. Her dedication to reporting and journalism will be a strong addition to the Business Journal's award-winning coverage," said editor Vicky Janowski.

Originally from the Northeast, Elsberry is new to the Wilmington area, so she welcomes any and all local recommendations.

As a reporter for the Business Journal, Elsberry will cover tech and startups and general assignments, among other areas.

To contact Elsberry for story ideas and introductions, email [email protected].
