Michael Goodson will lead the Wilmington division of Clancy & Theys Construction Co. as division manager and vice president, according to a news release.
Goodson moved to Wilmington in 2015 to take a job at the local Clancy & Theys office, where he worked his way up to director of operations. He possesses a wide range of experience working with different markets, including hospitality, industrial, office, education, health care and multi-unit residential, the news release stated.
Goodson has been involved in several large-scale projects in the Wilmington area, including The Metropolitan at the Riverwalk, an apartment complex in downtown Wilmington with 293 Class A apartments, and Midtown Park at Barclay, a three-story, 64,000-square-foot medical office building adjacent to The Pointe at Barclay.
“Michael Goodson earned this promotion demonstrating professional excellence at every level. Our clients and the overall community will benefit from new innovative ideas and applications of technology in our Wilmington office,” said Baker Glasgow, president of Clancy & Theys, in the release. “His guidance will continue to set our Wilmington team apart for our clients with forward-thinking ideas that lay the framework for future success.”
Goodson said in the release, “We have a phenomenal division dedicated to this area. We will continue to grow our team with new talent and skillsets that keep our portfolio diverse, set us apart from competitors and provide an even greater impact throughout Wilmington. I’m excited for the energy and innovation our team brings to every project for our clients and the community.”
Goodson has completed several leadership programs, including Leadership Wilmington, Dale Carnegie and FMI Leadership Institute. Goodson is a LEED Accredited Professional, a Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Advisory Council member, and vice president of the Wilmington Contractors Association.
