Andrew Cooke has joined the team at McKinley Building Corp., according to a news release.

Cooke, a native of Wilmington, has been hired as a business development officer, officials said in the release.

Cooke earned a degree in business management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has worked as a commercial banker in Wilmington for 13 years.

The past six years, he was with BB&T. Cooke is a graduate with distinction of the BB&T Banking School Program at Wake Forest University.

Andrew has served on several boards in Wilmington, including Airlie Gardens, StepUp Wilmington, Wilmington Downtown Inc., the Greater Wilmington Sports Hall of Fame and the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He also served on the board of the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, where he was chairman for two years, according to the release.
