Carousel Center Receives Accreditation

By Joe Lowe, posted Mar 24, 2015
The National Children’s Alliance has awarded accreditation to The Carousel Center Inc., the Wilmington organization announced in a press release.

The Carousel Center provides care services to child abuse victims aged 1 to 17 years old in Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender counties.

National Children’s Alliance awards accreditation based on a member’s compliance with 10 Children Advocacy Center national standards to ensure proper and effective services to victims of child abuse, the release stated.  Accreditation is the highest membership level of The National Children’s Alliance and requires excellence in service.

“The Carousel Center, Inc. is to be commended for its excellent work serving victims of child abuse. As the national association and accrediting body for Children’s Advocacy Centers across the country, our goal is to ensure that every victim of child abuse has access to high-quality services that result from professional collaboration,” Teresa Huizar, executive director of National Children’s Alliance, said in the release.
