Tama Tea Celebrates Grand Opening

With a solid month behind them, Tama Tea owners Rocco Quaranto and Kelly and Wells Struble are celebrating a grand opening this Friday.
 
“We’ve had a lot of great feedback so far,” Quaranto said. “And we’ve been continuing to make some tweaks to our menu based upon that. Now we’re just really excited to celebrate what we have to offer.”
 
Tama Tea serves several signature drinks such as cinnamon roll and salted caramel hot teas and cucumber basil and ginger mint iced teas. They also carry 60 loose-leaf teas, all of which can be served by the cup, both hot or iced, as well as purchased in two- or four-ounce bags.
 
Each of the loose-leaf teas is displayed along the tea wall, where customers can open each canister to smell the blends.
 
“We’ve already had some customers who are working their way through each of the 60 blends,” Quaranto said.
 
In addition to tea, the café serves steel cut oatmeal, grilled grapefruit with brown sugar and a variety of open-faced sandwiches they call tartines. Customers can design their own tartines from a list of fresh ingredients or select a Tama creation such as the Due North with wheat bread, Nutella, strawberries and granola; the Baysider with wheat bread, avocado, tomatoes and sliced hard boiled eggs; or the Daybreak with sourdough bread, brie, apples and honey.
 
Tama Tea carries a full line of tea brewing accessories and also has a free private meeting room called the “Think Tank” that can seat four to six.
 
Friday’s celebration will include free beverages 7 a.m.-9 a.m. and half-price beverages from 9 a.m. until closing. Quaranto said there will be giveaways throughout the day, including local artwork, cutting boards and wine racks, and live music in the evening.
 
Tama Tea is open 7 a.m.-9 p.m. daily and is located in The Forum at 1127 Military Cutoff Road, Suite C.
