Now entering its second month in business, Carolina Dogs and Creamery is serving up classic summertime treats: hot dogs, burgers and ice cream.

With a simple menu focused on high-quality meats and toppings, owners Sonny Biswas and Mark Bolas say these are the things that set them apart from the rest.

“We make our own chili, sauerkraut and cole slaw,” Bolas said. “Our hot dogs are 10-inch dogs made to order for us from our Connecticut distributor. We serve a gourmet hot dog with amazing flavor.”

The signature dogs include the Carolina dog with chili, sauerkraut, onions, relish and mustard; the Portuguese dog with sautéed onions and mushrooms; and the onion and peppers dog. Burgers include an original burger with cheese, a mushroom Swiss burger and a veggie burger made with quinoa and kale. Grilled cheese is also on the menu.

Bolas says the eatery offers a wide variety of toppings, such as sautéed mushrooms, peppers and onions, bacon and tomatoes. Bolas and Biswas will also soon be offering a fresh tomato soup to go along with the grilled cheese sandwiches.

The 20-seat restaurant, located in the Racine Drive shopping center that is home to Home Depot and Kohl’s, also serves Hershey’s ice cream with a variety of toppings. Milkshakes and sundaes are available, as well as 20 flavors of snow cones.

Carolina Dogs and Creamery is located at 132 Racine Drive, Unit 8.
