Some of downtown Wilmington's long-awaited additional hotel rooms have arrived.
A 92-room Hampton Inn hotel in downtown Wilmington opened Wednesday, according to an announcement.
Owned by Vision Hospitality Group and officially named the Hampton Inn by Hilton Wilmington/Downtown, the hotel at 225 Grace St. includes more than 1,200 square feet of flexible meeting space to accommodate up to 100 guests, an indoor, saltwater swimming pool and an outdoor patio, said TeDra George, general manager, in the news release.
Amenities also include a 24-hour business center, fitness center and free hot breakfast.
The Hampton Inn is one of several hotels that have either been underway or are planned in downtown Wilmington. The Wilmington Convention Center hotel, a 186-room Embassy Suites, is expected to be complete after the first of the year in 2018.
