Disc golf players travel to Good Hops Brewing at 811 Harper Ave. in Carolina Beach to take advantage of its award-winning course.

Using rules and scoring similar to golf, disc golf is a flying-disc game where players aim to get their disc in elevated metal baskets, often dodging trees and other natural obstacles.

The Good Hops course “is very well designed, with a few intricate, tight fairways that add just the right amount of challenge,” said Stephanie Hamlett (not pictured), a longtime disc golfer and Carolina Beach resident. “The course is great for all skill levels and is a fantastic addition to an already amazing little island.”

The Good Hops course ranked No. 9 out of the 25 best disc golf courses at breweries for 2026 based on course ratings from disc golfers on UDisc, a disc golf app.

“This course keeps racking up the accolades, as it also landed at No. 7 on UDisc’s list of the 50 Best Short Disc Golf Courses,” UDisc’s website states. “That means you can play it in about half an hour, leaving plenty of time for another round.”
