Steam Restaurant & Bar, at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront, is now serving a weekend brunch that not only runs almost the entire weekend, but also offers what is arguably one of the best views in town.

With floor to ceiling sliding glass doors that open to a wide outdoor terrace, diners can enjoy panoramic views of the Cape Fear River while enjoying $3 cocktails and an extensive brunch menu that’s offered from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

While the menu offers plenty of standard brunch fare, standouts include the Little Bao Wow Buns, homemade breakfast bao buns with house smoked salmon belly, cream cheese, chives, dill and furikake seasoning; the Fried Green Tomato Texas Toast Stack with aged cheddar, cherrywood bacon and an over easy egg; and the Wilma Bennie, a mushroom bread pudding with buttered crab, arugula and chive hollandaise.

The $3 brunch cocktail menu incudes Bloody Marys, mimosas, screwdrivers and kir royales, and the rooftop bar, Cloud 9 is now open at 1 p.m. on weekends.

Food and beverage director Alan Nelson said the Sunday brunch crowd has been growing steadily since the menu’s launch at the end of February, but he wants to be sure diners know the menu is available throughout the day on Saturday as well.

Nelson said Steam is now taking reservations for both Easter brunch, which will feature an expanded menu, and Mother’s Day brunch, which will be a large-scale buffet.

Steam is currently promoting Ready, Set, Brunch, a brunch giveaway, via social media. Visit Steam's Facebook page for a chance to win brunch for four.

Steam Restaurant & Bar is at 9 Estelle Lee Pl. in downtown Wilmington.
