Duck Donuts closed the doors to its store at The Pointe at Barclay Sunday, after 15 months in business.

Kristin Kellum, public relations manager for Duck Donuts, said the Mayfaire location will remain open under the current management.  That location has been in operation since the spring of 2016.

“Performance at the Duck Donuts at The Pointe at Barclay did not meet our expectations for the market and the decision was made to operate one location in Wilmington,” Kellum said. “We thank the community for their support and look forward to welcoming new and returning customers at our location in the Mayfaire Community Center.”

Kellum said all Duck Donuts locations will be participating in the Second Annual Gabe’s Chemo Duck Program Campaign starting Sept. 1, raising money to provide stuffed animal ducks to children undergoing cancer treatment in the communities the company serves.

Duck Donuts will be launching its fall flavors Sept. 10, with some returning favorites as well as an all-new, surprise flavors, Kellum said.
