Flaming Amy’s Carolina Beach location has something you won’t find at the Barn on Oleander Drive. A full bar.

The bar features six beers on tap and a variety of margaritas, served on the rocks or frozen, all made with Lunazul Blanco Tequila. Specialty margaritas include strawberry chipotle, blackberry ginger and pineapple jalapeño.

Weekly drink specials include house margaritas for $5 on Mondays, pretty in pink cocktails on Saturday and $4 mimosas and Bloody Marys on Sundays.

In hopes of developing a bar crowd and increasing business during non-peak hours, Flaming Amy’s owners Jay and Amy Muxworthy have created a bar menu to accompany their lineup of beer and fresh margaritas from 3 p.m to 7 p.m.

“We put together a menu of bar munchies, all $5 a piece, for customers to snack on while they enjoy a drink,” Jay Muxworthy said. “Not everyone wants a heavy burrito when they come in to hang out in the bar.”

Bar menu items include hard shell tacos, Cuban pork and green chile tamales, chicharrónes – Mexican pork rinds – chili cheese tater tots, nachos and toastadas.
After Labor Day the Muxworthy plans to serve a burrito brunch on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the off-season. Menu items are still in the works, but Jay Muxworthy said he expects it to offer eight to ten items including breakfast burritos, chimichangas and tacos. Flaming Amy’s will also begin offering delivery service to Pleasure Island residents throughout the off-season.

“I know that like me, many of the island residents don’t like to have to leave the island on their days off,” Jay Muxworthy said. “And while there are a lot of breakfast options here, there really aren’t a lot of places offering brunch.”
