San Juan Café is now offering cooking classes on the first Saturday of each month.

The classes are hosted by chefs Danny Keegan and Billy Quetel. Keegan, a native of Puerto Rico and graduate of Johnson & Wales University, opened San Juan Café in early 2010.

Keegan prides himself on providing Wilmington with authentic Latin American cuisine. The menu features dishes from Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Cuba.

The restaurant, 3314 Wrightsville Avenue, took home the People’s Choice Award for best taste at the Wilmington Wine and Food Festival this past spring.

Classes are limited to 10 participants and cost $25 per person or $45 per couple, including a glass of wine to complement the menu.
