Graphic Design Firm Moves To 2nd Floor Of Downtown Building

A graphic design and web development firm founded in 2001 is settling in at a different downtown Wilmington location.

Moxie will now be located at 202 Princess St., above Bespoke Dry Goods & Coffee.

The company had an office on Eastwood Road from 2007 to 2016 before moving to space on Wright’s Alley in downtown Wilmington. On Princess Street, Moxie has a three-year lease with options to renew.

Brian Brueck, one of the founders of Moxie along with his partner Christine Kim, said that culturally, downtown is a better place for Moxie.

“It’s more of a creative atmosphere downtown, and there’s just a little more going on, especially now. It seems like everybody’s moving down there, and we wanted to be part of that,” he said. 

Of Moxie’s growth over the past 16 years, Brueck said, “We’re in a good spot right now. We’ve got eight full-time senior creatives and web developers, each with at least 10 years of experience. And then we have a nice network of really talented contractors that we’ve built up over the years too.”

He said Moxie’s clients span many industries — financial, biotech, health care, education, government and retail — and the company especially enjoys the excitement of working with startup companies.

“We’ll do a whole identity package – logo, stationery, print collateral and a website, and then we get them off the ground,” Brueck said. “And then from there, we stay involved and we work with them to maintain and expand the brand.”

Christian Cardamone, a broker with Coastal Properties, represented the landlord, Mugsy LLC, and Moxie in the lease transaction.

The building at 202 Princess St., which previously housed Mugsy’s Pub, was damaged extensively in a fire in 2014. But since then, it has been renovated completely, Cardamone said.

Other tenants besides Moxie and Bespoke include Louie’s Hot Dogs and Port City Cheesesteak.
