A small commercial center on Market Street and a storage facility on Carolina Beach Road are the subject of two separate community meetings next week.

The commercial center would consist of two, one-story buildings and a parking lot at 8822 Market St., according to a site plan from Cindee Wolf of Design Solutions, who is representing the owner of the proposed commercial center site at the community meeting.

Labeled Custom Colors Paint & Flooring, the site plan shows a 3,500-square-foot building and a 6,650-square-foot building. The owner of the property is 6943 Market Street LLC, managed by Ann M. Dombroski and Anthony Dombroski, according to New Hanover County property tax and N.C. Secretary of State records.

The address used in the name of the limited liability company is the former site of a Custom Color Painting & Decorating store, which moved to Ogden Plaza because of the Military Cutoff Extension project.

Efforts to reach the Dombroskis for more information on the proposed center were unsuccessful.

The meeting on the Market Street project will be held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the offices of Design Solutions, 107 Stokley Drive, Unit 104.

At the corner of Carolina Beach Road and St. Andrews Drive next to Belle Meade Apartments, another property owner wants to develop a climate-controlled storage facility, according to a separate letter from Wolf.

Site plans for the facility show four large buildings that range in size from 21,000 to 40,000 square feet.

"This proposal would require a modification of the existing Conditional Zoning District (CZD) approval from New Hanover County that proposed a movie theater," Wolf's letter to adjacent property owners said.

The movie theater project never came to fruition.

The Custom Colors Paint & Flooring project would also need a CZD approval from the county, which requires that developers hold meetings for all property owners within 500 feet of the tract boundary and any other interested parties.

For the storage facility project, the community meeting will be held 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Design Solutions offices.
