CRO Chiltern To Move Into Bigger Wilmington Space

By Cece Nunn, posted Apr 14, 2016
A contract research organization is expanding into a bigger Wilmington office.

Chiltern International Inc. has leased a bigger space at 3147 S. 17th St. in Barclay Center, according to an announcement from the company that manages the center.

Chiltern is expected to move to the new location from its nearby Barclay Commons office off Independence Boulevard in June, the news release from Cameron Management said.

Chiltern is described in the release as a leading, global mid-sized CRO with specialties in clinical development; oncology; device and diagnostics; data, analytics and evaluation; and strategic service provision, with 4,200 workers in 47 countries.

The new office is about 33,000 square feet, more than 10,000 square feet larger than the current location.

“Chiltern has been a tenant in Wilmington since 2007,” said Hill Rogers, broker in charge of Cameron Management, in the release. “We’re happy to support the continued growth of this company and its vital work in clinical research to improve human health and well-being worldwide.”

In addition to its U.S. sites, which include offices in Cary;  Bristol, Tenn.; Chicago; and King of Prussia, Pa., Chiltern has offices around the world. Its worldwide headquarters is in the United Kingdom, just outside of London.

Rogers said the company's new Wilmington office is currently in the midst of an upfit, under construction by general contractor Clancy & Theys.

“Cameron Management was tremendously helpful in finding a location that fit our specific needs,” said Alecia Barbee, executive vice president of product development services and general manager at Chiltern, in the announcement. “Our new Wilmington office marks another milestone in our mission to deliver truly collaborative solutions for clinical development services globally.”

Efforts to reach a Chiltern representative for more information about the new office were not immediately successful Thursday. Company officials announced last year that the firm had acquired Pennsylvania-based CRO Theorem.
