Dunkin' Donuts, Dollar Store And More Added To New Shopping Center

By Cece Nunn, posted Sep 18, 2015
A shoe store, dollar store, cafe, Dunkin' Donuts and Mexican restaurant are among the latest tenants added to the roster for Bayshore Commons, a new Porters Neck shopping center anchored by a new 190,000-square-foot Walmart, a broker said Thursday.

The Walmart celebrated a grand opening in July at the center, located in the 8000 block of Market Street. Shoe Show, Dollar Tree, San Felipe Mexican Restaurant, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Dunkin Donuts recently signed leases to occupy buildings across the entrance road from the Walmart, said Nicholas Silivanch, partner in Eastern Carolinas Commercial Real Estate, the company in charge of leasing for Bayshore Commons.

"These additions to the center bring us to 56 percent occupancy," Silivanch said in an email. "We have several strong offers out that we feel will be able to get closed in the near future, which will bring us to 72 percent occupancy."

Earlier this year, locally owned restaurant Cape Fear Seafood & Company leased 4,100 square feet of space in the center to add another location. For Tropical Smoothie Cafe, the lease represents a second location for the locally owned franchise that in addition to specialty smoothies also serves a variety of food, including wraps, sandwiches and salad.

"We have had very strong and active interest in restaurants as the Porters Neck area has grown by 80 percent over the past decade . . ." Silivanch said in an email.

He said more growth is on the way to the area.

"We look forward to the addition of new tenants to the center and are excited about what has already been accomplished," Silivanch said. "We recently completed a video on Bayshore Commons as well and it's posted on our YouTube channel, which is a new featrue from ECCRE in our marketing tools."

ECCR announced last year that McDonald's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Fantastic Sams hair salon, Lee Nails and Sally Beauty Supply would be part of the center.
