The owner of cleaning and restoration service franchises has expanded his territory.
This month, Davis Thompson added the SERVPRO of Pender/West Onslow counties to his franchises, which also include SERVPRO of New Hanover and SERVPRO of Brunswick and South Columbus counties.
The three franchises have 35 employees, said Thompson, a Wilmington resident.
The additional franchise gives Thompson’s group added capacity and coverage from Jacksonville south along the coast to the South Carolina state line.
Thompson said he started with the New Hanover County SERVPRO franchise 15 years ago, adding the Brunswick and South Columbus franchise about seven years ago.
The franchises often get called by clients who are dealing with busted pipes, Thompson said, along with fire damage. As a result of Hurricane Florence in September 2018, the company received 400 to 500 calls, he said.
Thompson said he looks forward to continuing to provide a high level of service.
He said, “It's not easy to acquire a SERVPRO franchise and it shows that we have done a good job.”
