W2O Group Launches New Executive Development Service

By Vince Winkel, posted Oct 25, 2016
Wilmington-based Mike Huckman has been tapped to lead a new service from W2O Group designed to improve the leadership capabilities and communications skills of business leaders.

W2O is the San Francisco-based marketing and communications firm that acquired Pure Communications of Wilmington last month.

Huckman joined the W2O Group as part of the Pure Communications acquisition and is an award-winning former journalist and a long-time communications advisor.

The new service is called Connect and will take a multidisciplinary approach to helping executives improve organizational clarity, both internally and externally, according to a W2O news release Tuesday.

The offering is designed to develop and improve the skills and techniques of executives, external thought leaders and subject matter experts so they can assess, navigate and engage more effectively in positioning and propelling their organizations, strategies, programs and brands to advance their strategic decision-making capabilities and more creatively and effectively shape their narrative, the company said.

“More than ever, senior leaders are facing myriad challenges and opportunities to improve their organization’s fundamentals and stay relevant,” said Jim Weiss, founder and CEO of W2O Group, in a news release. “Mike and his team will utilize a deep and essential understanding based on proven methodologies to help executives clarify, motivate and inspire their global teams and external influencers during times of turmoil, change and unpredictability.”

Before joining Pure Communications, Huckman held a senior role at MSL New York. He spent nearly 30 years as a TV news reporter, including 10 years at the business cable network CNBC.

“The key for leaders and other corporate representatives and spokespeople to communicate effectively in today’s world is to focus on articulating messages in a way that all audiences can understand and be inspired to act on,” Huckman said. “Our approach is specifically designed to help them do that and to connect to all stakeholders with much greater impact, clarity and resonance.”
