Proclaim Interactive, a Wilmington-based digital marketing agency, has expanded its expertise with the acquisition of another local firm, AGS Marketing, Proclaim announced this week.

Specific terms of the cash deal were not disclosed.

“This is a great venture for both organizations, but our clients are the ones that benefit most,” Proclaim Interactive president Spence Hackney said in a news release.

As part of the deal, AGS founder Chrissy Holleman joined Proclaim and will manage general marketing implementation, reputation building and pay-per-click advertising, Hackney said Tuesday, adding that Holleman’s specialized skills will complement those of Proclaim’s existing staff.

“Our overall strategy has been that marketing today requires a lot of different skill sets, and we want to retain leadership expertise in each skill set. This [deal] is continuation of that," he said. “We hired [Holleman] because she was so good at what she did, and now she has one thing to focus on. Her clients also are familiar with us."

Holleman founded AGS in 2008. At the time of the merger, it had two employees in addition to Holleman. Those employees are not joining Proclaim Interactive, which now has a staff of 10, Hackney said.

The acquisition became official Jan. 1, company officials said.

“This is an excellent opportunity for AGS clients to tap into expanded resources and Proclaim to gain an experienced marketer,” Holleman said in the release.

Proclaim Interactive, established in 2000, offers website design, social media management, search engine optimization and general marketing services. While its clients range from small to large companies and represent a wide variety of businesses all over the world, Hackney said his agency has special expertise in the dental, health care and nonprofit markets.
