New Leland Hotel In The Works By Wilmington Firms

By Staff Reports, posted Jun 26, 2024
A Wilmington-based firm recently announced plans to build an additional hotel in northern Brunswick County with the help of another Wilmington company.

Crown Hotel & Travel Management has entered into a purchase and sale agreement for a site in Leland that's adjacent to its Tru by Hilton hotel that opened in November 2023.

Crown currently manages the Holiday Inn Express in Magnolia Greens and the Tru by Hilton in Waterford, the release stated. Crown will again partner with Wilmington-based Clarendon Properties on the overall development of the new project.

According to a news release, "Crown’s goal is to secure another Hilton franchise with the focus being on a Hampton Inn & Suites. It is expected that the new property will feature 100 (or more) rooms, an indoor pool and meeting space with a 2026 target opening."

Barry Eagle, president and CEO of Crown Hotel & Travel Management, said Leland is a thriving community, and his firm has been pleased with the amount of growth in the area.

“We believe it is a wonderful location," Eagle stated in the release, "and adding our third property in the market will not only meet the overall demand but will continue to enhance the hospitality offerings for both residents and visitors.”
