The city of Southport has a new hotel. Hampton Inn & Suites Southport, 4820 Port Loop Road, opened earlier this spring and features 88 guest rooms.
 
A Hilton brand property, the Brunswick County hotel replaces the Hampton Inn Southport, formerly located at 5181 Southport Supply Road.
 
The hotel is owned by C3 Investments of NC Inc., and was developed by C3 Investments of NC Inc. and True Blue Hospitality of Charleston, South Carolina, according to a news release.
 
“At Hampton Inn & Suites Southport, guests will have a worry-free stay with comfortable spaces that are intuitively designed to feel familiar and inviting,” said general manager Eleanor Erickson in the release.
 
The property features a large fitness center with distinct areas for cardio, strength and stretching elements, an outdoor pool and meeting space. The casual design elements of the Perfect Mix Lobby provide space to relax and unwind, and guests will be able to visit the TREATS space for snacks, beverages and locally crafted gifts, the release stated.
 
Hampton Inn & Suites is one of Hilton’s 15 hotel brands. The hotel company’s portfolio includes Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Garden Inn and Embassy Suites, among others.
 
The latter came to the Cape Fear region in early 2018, opening in downtown Wilmington’s Convention District.
 
The 186-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Wilmington Riverfront at the Wilmington Convention Center also features a full-service restaurant, Steam, and a rooftop bar overlooking the Cape Fear River.
 
Shortly before the Embassy Suites opened, another new Hilton brand gained a presence in Wilmington. The nearby Hilton Wilmington Riverside was extensively renovated and rebranded as part of the company’s Tapestry Collection.
 
Renamed Hotel Ballast Wilmington, the then 47-year-old hotel underwent an $8.5 million renovation project.
