The Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association (WCFHBA) announced that Craig Stevens and David Smith have been inducted into the 2017 Hall of Fame. Both men are past presidents and longtime members of the association as well as locals to Wilmington, according to a news release.

Stevens is the president and owner of Stevens Fine Homes and has served as a member of WCFHBA’s board of directors for over 10 years and also served as president in 2006 and 2011. Stevens worked to create the first-ever Parade of Homes Association House in 2012, according to the release.

Smith (left) was a lead instructor in light construction at Cape Fear Community College from 1985 to 2007. He has specialized in custom residential construction for over 30 years. Smith was named to the N.C. Building Code Council in 2005 and has served 12 years on the council. Smith is currently on the board of directors for the WCFHBA and served as president in 1996, officials said.

“Hall of Famers have helped shape how our community has grown and evolved today. Not only did they build the homes, but also the infrastructure, the roads, the water and sewer, the parks, and schools in many neighborhoods,” Dave Spetrino Jr., chairman of the Parade of Homes committee, said in the release.
