WRAR elects new officer, adds new directors

Don Harris, a Realtor with Intracoastal Realty, was chosen to be the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors’ (WRAR) vice president for 2015, according to a news release from the organization, which further stated that election to this post means that Harris will serve as Multiple Listing Service president in 2016 and WRAR president in 2017.

“The three-year leadership commitment gives Harris an incredible opportunity to apply his experience and knowledge in addressing several concerns for local homeowners and the real estate industry,” the release stated.

Harris holds his Graduate, Realtor Institute and Seniors Real Estate Specialist designations, as well as his e-PRO certification, according to the release. Harris has also chaired and served on numerous committees at both the state and local association levels, while also volunteering in many community-based capacities in the Wilmington area.

Also joining WRAR’ board of directors in 2015 are Jeff Lesley with Century 21 Sweyer and Associates; Loris Speight with Masonboro Realty; and Shari Cutting with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, the release stated. Lesley and Speight will both serve a three-year term, while Cutting will serve a one-year term.

Three earn Centurion Producer Awards

Jeff Sweyer, broker/owner of Century 21 Sweyer & Associates recently announced that three of the company’s Realtors have earned the Century 21 system’s Centurion Producer Award.

The three are Art Ricks, Peter Sweyer and Regina Drury.

This award is a recognition that puts the recipients in the top 2 percent of all Century 21 agents in the world, based on gross closed commissions, according to a news release from Century 21 Sweyer & Associates. It is the 13th Centurion award for Ricks, who holds the local company’s all-time record for such awards, and the eighth Centurion award for Drury, who has been with Sweyer & Associates for nine years.

Alexander is new director of marketing

Kathy Alexander, a 15-year veteran of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, has been named to a newly created position for the company, according to a recent news release.

Alexander (at left) is the director of marketing, a role in which she will “promote the company’s steady growth throughout the Cape Fear region, and increase brand awareness in markets from Jacksonville to the South Carolina line,” the release stated. “In this position, Alexander will manage the overall marketing efforts for the Cape Fear area franchise and assist the company’s 11 offices in developing and executing marketing strategies to increase awareness of the company’s 375-plus agents.”

Alexander joined Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage in 1999 and has held a variety of sales and marketing positions, including licensed broker, advertising coordinator, previews program coordinator, leads management coordinator and inside sales associate, according to the release.

She is a graduate of Campbell University, where she earned both a BA in business administration and an MBA with a concentration in marketing. 

Century 21 Sweyer & Associates adds two associates, regional manager

Century 21 Sweyer & Associates announced in recent news releases that Tracy Maurer is a new regional manager for the firm’s rental division and that Jim Perkins and Brooke Gayton have joined the firm’s sales arm as sales associates.

Perkins (at right), a native of Fayetteville, spent six years in the Army National Guard and worked in sales, finance and insurance. He became a real estate agent in 2006 and settled in the Hampstead area, where he will be based with Century 21 Sweyer & Associates, according to the news release.

Gayton (at left) formerly worked at the American Embassy in London, where she met her husband, Ryan, the release stated. She recently moved to this area as a result of her husband’s relocation here. Having made a big move to a new home, she said in the release, she is eager to help others find their “perfect fit.”

Maurer (at right) has worked for the firm’s rental division since 2012. In her new role, according to a release, she will have total management responsibility for all of the firm’s properties in the Pender/Onslow counties markets.

“Tracy has managed properties for over 20 years and also has rental properties of her own, so she truly understands the needs of both owners and tenants,” the release stated.
 
“With Tracy’s significant amount of experience in property management, both through her prior positions with our company, as well as her previous employers, we know she will be a strong leader in these markets to keep up with our rapid growth,” Dave Sweyer, owner of Century 21 Sweyer & Associates Rental Division, said in the release.
