Gastroenterology Practice To Move To Physicians Drive Building

By Vicky Janowski, posted Jun 22, 2018
New Hanover Regional Medical Center is consolidating the clinic and procedure spaces for one of its physician group specialties by moving to a building on Physicians Drive.

NHRMC Physician Group recently signed a 10-year lease for a medical office building at 1520 Physicians Drive, according to an announcement from Cameron Management, which handles leasing and property management for the location.

After an extensive renovation, the building will house NHRMC Physician Group-Hanover Gastroenterology and the physician group’s Endoscopy Center.

Right now, NHRMC Physician Group-Hanover Gastroenterology is located on Doctors Circle and Medical Center Drive, taking up about 11,400 square feet of clinic and procedure space in two separate buildings, hospital officials said.

“The space on Physicians Drive that is being renovated for Hanover Gastroenterology and the Endoscopy Center will bring the clinic and procedure space into one building totaling almost 16,000 square feet,” NHRMC spokesman Julian March said. “It will allow the Endoscopy Center to add a third procedure space and have room for expansion.”

He said officials were looking at options for how to use NHRMC Physician Group-Hanover Gastroenterology’s current space at 1515 Doctors Circle once the practice moves out.

The remodel of the Physician Drive building involves gutting the inside to accommodate the ambulatory Endoscopy Center.

“The two clinic wings in the building will house the gastroenterology practice and be remodeled with new finishes,” March said.

The work, led by McKinley Building Corp., is expected to take until the end of this year.

“Upon completion, this remodeled facility will provide specialty services in the field of gastroenterology in a state of the art facility” Hill Rogers, broker in charge with Cameron Management, said in a news release about the lease agreement.
