New Hanover Regional Medical Center has been named a recipient of the Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience for the second consecutive year.
America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience is a national list focused on female patient satisfaction and recommendation scores.
A hospital news release said that the evidence-based award “is determined by Medicare data weighed according to the preference of women in a 2016 national survey of more than 1,000 female respondents.”
“This award highlights the dedication of our physicians, nurses, staff and volunteers in ensuring our patients receive exceptional care throughout their treatment,” Jack Barto, NHRMC president and CEO, said in the release.
Scores are derived by data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for each hospital in the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and systems database.
The 100 best scores in each of the four bed size categories determine the America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience award winners. NHRMC falls in the largest category, which includes hospitals with more than 400 beds.
