Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter hired DeLayne Godwin as a nurse practitioner at the Wilmington Care Center.
Godwin provides hospice and palliative care to patients with advanced illness, according to a news release.
“Godwin participates in the medical management of patients in conjunction with hospice and palliative care physicians in home, hospital, nursing home and physician office settings. She provides education to patients and family members to facilitate optimal comfort and support,” the release stated.
She was previously a nurse practitioner at Cape Fear Cancer Specialists for 12 years and a staff nurse in New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s medical oncology unit.
Godwin has a bachelor of arts degree in English and bachelor of science and master of science degrees in nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
