Bill Cameron, co-founder of Cameron Management Inc., has been elected to the Live Oak Bancshares board of directors.

According to a news release from the company, Cameron has been instrumental to the development and growth of Live Oak since its founding in 2008.

“As a shareholder of Live Oak and trusted business acquaintance of both Chip Mahan, Live Oak Bank’s CEO, and Lee Williams, vice chairman of Live Oak Bancshares, Cameron shares a great interest in the continued success of the bank. His extensive experience includes real estate finance and development as well as executive leadership,” the release stated.

Cameron earned both an undergraduate and a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Live Oak was founded to provide small business loans to professionals looking to start or expand their business. Aside from acquisitions and refinancing, Live Oak’s lenders specialize in real estate loans and ground-up construction projects. The bank originally began lending to veterinarians, and has since expanded to dentists, independent pharmacists, funeral home owners, investment advisors and family entertainment centers nationwide.
