Agency Joins 'creative Environment' In Downtown Wilmington

Nearly 20 years after its establishment in Wilmington, Signal has finally located downtown, which had always been the dream of its CEO, Rick Haynes. Thursday, the digital marketing and communications agency announced it has moved to 202 Princess Street.
 
When Haynes first expanded the digital marketing and communications agency from Raleigh to the Port City in 1995, he looked for a downtown office space with no success, according to the announcement news release. The agency instead located at Howe Creek Landing, next to Mayfaire on Military Cutoff Road.
 
The growth of Wilmington Dermatology Center, Signal’s neighbor at Howe Creek Landing, led the practice to ask Signal if it could purchase the agency’s space, according to the release.
 
“Signal was able to find the perfect downtown space to accommodate its employees and clientele,” the release stated. “The second-floor office space occupies about 2,200 square feet and includes a private outdoor deck. Built in 1900, the building has been restored to its original historic glory, overlooking the corner of Second and Princess streets.”

Signal worked with Hank Adams of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners. The building owner is Christian Cardamone of Coastal Properties, according to Ashley Hunter, an account manager with Signal.
 
The new space provides work space for Signal’s eight Wilmington employees. Another 12 people staff the Raleigh office, with Haynes and his son Ricky Haynes, Signal’s president, splitting their time between the two studios, said Hunter.
 
Downtown Wilmington provides a lot of positive energy because of its growth and revitalization efforts, Rick Haynes said in the news release. “We’re really excited about being a part of that creative environment and the lifestyle that downtown Wilmington has to offer.”
