Rick Paxton

Rick Paxton, president and CEO of Magnetic Marketing Inc., has recently been chosen to serve on the boards of directors of two different entities in North Carolina.

Locally, Paxton was elected to the board of the Downtown Business Alliance in Wilmington.

"Going into his third year of membership with DBA, Rick saw an opportunity to help the downtown area grow and flourish and wanted to help with that growth," according to a news release.

Paxton was also selected to serve on the board of the North Carolina Veteran’s Business Association as the regional representative for the Wilmington/Jacksonville area, the release stated.

Paxton retired from the USCG in 2010 and has been active with veteran’s causes since.

"He hopes to expand membership of veterans and shine a light on the businesses owned by veterans and spouses in North Carolina," according to the release.

Paxton is also a founding board member of the Wilmington Chapter of the American Marketing Association as well as an ambassador with Port City Young Professionals, the release stated.

Rick is married to Kelly, who is the administrator at The Commons of Brightmore in Wilmington. Kelly also serves as an ambassador with the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.
