Thomas Construction Group recently named Chris Knight as the company’s public/commercial sector leader.

Knight brings more than two decades of executive construction leadership "with a proven record in design-build and construction management at risk delivery methods across public, commercial, mixed-use, and healthcare markets," according to a news release. "He has guided high-performing teams, expanded revenue platforms and built long-term partnerships by aligning people, process and performance in collaborative project environments."

The release stated that Knight has held senior leadership roles with construction firms, "where he successfully expanded regional operations, implemented high-performance organizational structures and advanced innovative delivery solutions."

His portfolio includes leading design-build and CMAR contracts for municipal facilities, public safety buildings, mixed-use developments and health care projects, according to the release.

“Chris brings deep expertise in design-build delivery and a proven ability to align people, process, and performance,” stated Chris Reid, president of Thomas Construction Group, in the release. “His values and vision align perfectly with our OneThomas approach, and we are confident he will help drive continued growth and excellence in our markets.”

A native of Greensboro, Knight and his family now reside in Brunswick County. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, surfing and spending time with his family on the water, according to the release.

The release stated, "Having learned the trade from his father, he proudly notes that he has spent his entire life in construction and can 'still swing a hammer.'"

Thomas Construction Group is a full-service construction manager and general contractor specializing in construction management, design-build and preconstruction services. The firm is licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and beyond.
