Sue Magee has been named human resources director at Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear (CCLCF), according to a news release.
CCLCF is a local 501c3 nonprofit organization that aims to improve health outcomes for eligible Medicare, Medicaid, uninsured and privately insured enrollees in Southeastern North Carolina, including those in New Hanover, Pender, Brunswick, Columbus, Onslow, and Bladen counties.
Magee, who started her new position Jan. 29, worked in human resources at Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, for three decades.
She came to Wilmington from New Jersey in 1994 to start her job as HR manager for PPD, the release stated.
Magee's CCLCF role will involve "adding value to the organization's current HR and payroll functions by facilitating more streamlined and effective automation, collaborating with leadership to enhance the performance management system so it adds value to the organization and employees and improving HR administration," according to the release.
Magee said of her work at CCLCF, "I think that knowing you're having a positive impact on health outcomes is probably the ultimate goal for healthcare professionals."
CCLCF is also the network lead for the first nationwide Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP), which looks at factors that affect health — also known as social determinants of health — and provides select evidence-based, non-medical interventions to eligible Medicaid Managed Care enrollees, according to the release.
