The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce will soon welcome Laura Brogdon-Primavera to its team, according to a news release.

Brogdon-Primavera will be joining the chamber as its new director of programs and initiatives on May 3, stated the release. She will report directly to chamber president and CEO Natalie English.

"As we transition back to hosting in-person events, we believe the chamber's membership experiences are going to be more valuable than ever before. We're optimistic that Laura will bring in amazing speakers and develop unique programs that will keep our members talking about our events long after they're over. Laura also shares a passion for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and investing in minority-owned businesses in our community," English said in the release. "Laura's high energy, keen eye for detail, and creativity are certain to enhance the Wilmington Chamber's events. I'm thrilled to welcome Laura to the team."

Brogdon-Primavera's job responsibilities include managing all Wilmington Chamber of Commerce's events, the chamber's councils and the Leadership Wilmington program, stated the release.

"Laura will be responsible for the concept development, planning, logistics and execution of all on-site and off-site membership events, including signature events like our Elected Officials BBQ, Women's Professional Development Luncheon, 40 Under 40 Awards, and more," stated the release.  "Laura will also be responsible for overseeing the Wilmington Chamber's Leadership Wilmington program, a 10-month leadership development program for our community's aspiring professionals, and building a robust alumni network."

She will complete the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Wilmington program in May.

Brogdon-Primavera was most recently manager of programs and operations at the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Brogdon-Primavera received a bachelor's degree in hospitality and tourism management from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
