Thomas, Judy & Tucker PA has hired Maggie Ashburn as a partner to lead the Wilmington office, according to a news release.

The Wilmington location at 4010 Oleander Drive is the fourth for the accounting firm, which also has offices in Raleigh, Durham and Emerald Isle.

"We feel blessed to have Maggie’s experience, passion and talent as we grow and expand our reach in the Wilmington market," Chris Judy, managing partner of Thomas, Judy & Tucker PA (TJT), said in the release.

Ashburn has 17 years of public accounting experience, serving clients based in Wilmington and throughout the country, stated the release. She provides tax planning and tax compliance services, with industry focuses on residential and commercial construction, real estate development and manufacturing.

She is treasurer of the board of directors of the N.C. Coastal Land Trust and a former treasurer of the Historic Wilmington Foundation.

“I was impressed right away, not only by the emphasis on excellent client service, but also by the TJT culture and people, including accomplished, personable partners, and employees who are pleased with their work-life balance. I particularly appreciate that TJT now has five women partners, which demonstrates that the firm truly values the leadership qualities women bring to the table," Ashburn said in the release. “Embarking on a new path as a TJT tax partner, opening an office in Wilmington, and continuing to practice public accounting have all been rewarding so far in 2021. I look forward to serving TJT clients for years to come."
