South State Bank Hires New Branch Managers

South State Bank has added two new members to its managing team.

Deirdre (Dee) McGlone-Webb and Jill Murphy were hired as branch managers at two of the bank’s regional offices, according to a press release from South State Bank.

McGlone-Webb will manage the bank’s office located at 1117 Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington.

She brings over 33 years of experience in the banking industry, with experience in both small community and regional banks. In addition to branch management, she also has experience in commercial loan processing and bank auditing.

Most recently, McGlone-Webb worked as a branch manager with SunTrust Bank in Wilmington.

McGlone-Webb earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration in 1983 from UNC Charlotte and is also a graduate of Leadership Wilmington.

McGlone-Webb is also an active member of the community. She serves on the board of the N.C. Azalea Festival and is also a past committee chair. She is a commissioner for the N.C. Battleship Commission and a volunteer and past board member for the YWCA of Lower Cape Fear. 

Murphy (left) has joined the South State Bank team as branch manager and banking officer at its office located at 796 Sunset Blvd. N. in Sunset Beach.

A native of Palisades Park, New Jersey, Murphy started her career in 2001. She has worked with small community banks as well as large regional banks.

Murphy joined South State Bank as a teller at its Leland office in 2013 and later moved into customer service at the Wilmington office.
