Oakley, Floyd And Lee Honored By Cape Fear Community College

At its annual meeting in August, Cape Fear Community College honored two instructors and a staff member for outstanding service to the college. The recipients and awards were announced in a news release from the college.

Shane Oakley, a philosophy instructor who also serves as the president of the CFCC Faculty Association,​received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service for Faculty. Oakley received a plaque and an award check for $250.

Bridget Floyd​, English Instructor, received the Marilyn Goodman Anderson Award for Excellence in Teaching. She received a medallion to wear at official ceremonies and a $2,000 stipend.

Michelle Lee, executive assistant to the president, received the President’s Award for Outstanding Service for Staff. She received a plaque and an award check for $250.

To qualify for the awards, employees are nominated by their fellow college employees, supervisors and students, the release stated.
