Robin Hamilton, principal of Parsley Elementary School, was recently recognized for her doctoral dissertation, "A Comparative Case Study of Kindergarten Transition Practices and The Impact on Children's Kindergarten Readiness," which she completed in fall 2013, according to an announcement from the New Hanover County Schools.

Hamilton is the recipient of New Hanover County Schools’ 2014-2015 Principal of the Year award.

The Glatthorn Dissertation Award is awarded to the East Carolina University (ECU) graduate student who has the most outstanding dissertation in the Department of Educational Leadership, as selected by a committee of faculty members from the department.

The award is for a one-time amount of $1,000, the release stated.
